the history of vermouth
"The fame of Vermouth is inextricably linked to Piedmont and Turin in particular, where, at the end of the 18th century, the preparation of this aromatised wine was a veritable art. In the 18th century, an elite group of vermouth makers developed in Turin and other neighbouring towns and through them … Vermouth di Torino acquired international fame and distribution …. Indeed, between 1700 and 1800, Piedmont, part of the hereditary states of the House of Savoy, represented a territory of gastronomic excellence. It was thanks to the first courageous entrepreneurs that Vermouth di Torino was exported from the first half of the 19th century. In France, the name became Vermouth and, under this denomination, it acquired renown in the Savoy Kingdom'.

our spirit
Il Reale products are made of natural ingredients: fine wines from Piedmont and agricultural alcohol, skilfully flavoured with medicinal herbs, with the addition of small amounts of sugar. All based on traditional recipes, renewed by the most advanced research in the botanical and agri-food fields
Coriander, ireos, pontic absinthe, cardamom, angelica, cinnamon, marjoram, zedoaria and other botanicals variously combined with Cortese and Moscato or Nebbiolo and Barolo grapes create Il Reale vermouths, or with agricultural alcohol, make up the liqueurs and the Gin Il Reale.
The medicinal herbs come from the cultivations of certified companies founded in Piedmont at the end of the 19th century primarily for the production of vermouth. High-quality raw materials and balanced recipes create products with a prodigious taste, certified with the PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) label.
